Terms & Conditions
Placeholder terms — replace with counsel-reviewed text before launch. Last updated: 20 August 2026.
1. Membership
Membership in the Overlander Association of India is open to individuals who own or regularly operate an overland-capable vehicle, subject to committee approval. Membership fees, where applicable, are non-refundable.
2. Assumption of risk
Overlanding involves inherent risks, including but not limited to remote terrain, altitude, water crossings and vehicle recovery. Participants in OAI expeditions and events do so at their own risk and are responsible for their own vehicle's roadworthiness, insurance and recovery equipment.
3. Code of conduct
Members are expected to follow trail etiquette, respect local communities and the environment, and follow the guidance of chapter coordinators during group expeditions. The association reserves the right to suspend membership for conduct that endangers others or damages the association's reputation.
4. Events
Event dates, routes and pricing (including Sangam) are subject to change based on weather, permits and safety conditions. Registration fees for cancelled events will be refunded or carried forward at the committee's discretion.
5. Intellectual property
Photos and trip reports submitted to the gallery or forum may be used by the association for non-commercial promotional purposes, with credit to the submitting member.
6. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled through the association's grievance process before any external escalation.
